Job Title: Engineering - Drafter 2

Temp to Hire! Work Schedule Standard business hours, e.g. 8am-5pm (M-F)

Pay Rate: $26.00-30.00/hr

Position Summary

??? Prepare, in close association with the responsible design engineering department, work scope definition, and detailed mechanical drawings to satisfy requirements and conditions of assigned projects.

??? Prepare drawings compliant to ASME FY14.5 in Solid Edge with, BOM (bill of material) and related documents.

??? Complete assembly, engineering analyses, and testing on new designs. Then prepare related reports and summaries for review.

??? Evaluate component and assembly level BOMs for design improvements and cost reduction.

??? Support new product development, documentation, testing and assembly.

??? Support document generation and revision control in SAP, Insight, SharePoint and Solid Edge.

??? Support generation of production and field work instructions.

??? Participate in the investigation of technical problems and the establishment of procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences.

??? As lead person for assigned projects, attend meetings and provide technical advice, scheduling information, cost estimates and drawing/document control information.

??? Uses sound judgement, takes strong initiative to complete projects, strong communicator, able to ask the right questions, works well both independently and in team environment

??? Review drawings of suppliers and supporting drafting personnel for conformance to customer specifications, approved practices, and standards and codes governing specific phases of work. Independently resolve complex problems, investigate non-conformances and recommend solutions.

??? Assemble, check, obtain approval and distribute project drawings as established in task assignment details. Interact with related groups as directed by project instructions to transmit drawings, requisitions or related material in fulfilling specified contract requirements.

??? Prepare Custom Outline Drawings for Customer Orders.

??? Prepare Work Instructions for use on production floor.

??? Publish and Release all files when approved by Engineering.

Qualifications

??? Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of related design experience, Associate's Degree and 4+ years of related design experience, or High School Diploma or equivalent with extensive related design experience.

??? Proficient in computer aided design (CAD) modeling and drafting (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Creo). We use Solid Edge, so that's most preferred.

??? Knowledge of principals of Document Control. Experience with SAP is strongly preferred.

??? Proficient in MS Office (Project, Outlook, Excel, Visio, Word, Adobe Acrobat).

??? Exposure to mechanical packaging and industrial wiring procedures and standards.

??? Industrial Control Panel Layout Experience for Low/Medium Voltage products would demonstrate strongly related experience.

??? Knowledge of UL347A and UL508A standards would demonstrate strongly related experience.
