Job Details

Develop and conduct marketing activities to promote services and expand member use within the markets served; plan, direct and coordinate the efforts of marketing and sales toward the accomplishment of organizational objectives; supply advice and support to various departments within the organization. Coordinate special events, community involvement, and work with organizations to promote our brand. Utilize the MCIF to assist decisions for marketing and corporate growth efforts.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Directs advertising and sales promotions. Develops advertising programs, newsletters, statement inserts and other materials as needed. Works to strategically to target market individuals for membership at the credit union through use of the MCIF.
  • Conducts market research, tracks product activity promotion results, and analyzes data produced from the core to better market products and services.
  • Annually works to coordinate the marketing plan to align with the credit union budget. Ensures that the department objectives and plan are in agreement with the strategic plan and are a driver for its success
  • Champions the SCCU Financial Advisors program. Works with leadership from CUNA to help the Advisor program perform at a top level.
  • Coordinates special events; monitors planning, schedules and implementation as required for proper execution of each event. Coordinates the annual meeting, including production of reports, facilities, and meeting logistics.

 
Performance Measurements:

  • To provide direction and recommendations to management, based on current research data, regarding market strategies and direction the Credit Union should take.
  • To meet the credit union's growth objective. (ie. membership, member deposit, and member loans).
  • To provide informed, prompt, professional and accurate service and support to all members and associates. To update and follow the Marketing Policy.
  • To work with management team in supporting public relations, business and community involvement efforts and deliver planned results within PR/Community relations budget.
  • To ensure marketing efforts are compliant and deliver planned results accurately, timely and within budget.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience

Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education
(1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).

 
Interpersonal Skills
Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
