Typical Day in the Life

A typical day as a Financial Industry Internal Audit Senior Associate/Manager might include:
  • Communicate effectively with clients in the financial industry to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction and lead collaborative efforts to improve client business processes.
  • Conduct consultative collaboration sessions and/or discussions with key leaders within the client company in order to respond to regulatory examination issues, correct internal audit deficiencies and review internal processes and controls.
  • Effectively manage work and communicate with staff and clients in the financial institutions industry to ensure internal audit procedures meet required regulations.
  • Develop and prepare internal audit testing and assist client companies with training on financial institution controls.
  • Develop, train, manage and mentor internal audit associates on projects and assesses both personal and professional performance for engagement and career development opportunities.
  • Foster positive team behavior by leading by example and demonstrating integrity.
  • Develop and maintain tools utilized in documenting internal audit engagements.
  • Manage, understand and keep current with financial institution regulations trends or issues in order to recommend and/or develop processes and procedures to implement changes to better serve the client.
  • Manage client relationships with integrity by monitoring needs and building value into professional service.
  • Assist with client billing.
  • Participate in and seek out business development opportunities.

 

Who You Are
  • You have advanced knowledge of financial institution internal audit procedures.
  • You have the ability to recognize, develop and implement process efficiencies.
  • You have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • You are a multi-tasking master, and there has never been a deadline you could not meet.
  • You hold yourself to the highest professional standards and maintain strict client confidentiality.
  • You have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and clients.
  • You are proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and related programs.
  • In addition to all this, you have a Bachelor's degree in a business-related field and have 4-7 years of management or leadership experience in a financial institution or public accounting firm with emphasis on internal audit.

Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.
