Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients. Documents a thorough medical history from patient. Contributes to the assessment of patients and administers medications or treatments as ordered. Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed. Counseling patients and family members, under the direction of a registered nurse, on prevention and treatment plans. The LPN demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting.
The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 7 AM- 5 PM. Shift start time varies within these hours. This position is for 8 hour shifts with a half hour lunch break. Clinic is closed on weekends and holidays. Day off during the week is varied based on clinic needs.
Department Details
Internal Medicine specializes in patients over the age of 18 with chronic diseases. All of the providers and nursing staff in the department work together as a team to give the patients excellent care.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
MN nursing license required.
Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
