Position requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent work experience in the area of transmission planning. Excellent communication and technical writing skills are required. Must have the ability to work independently, as well as with internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will focus on generator interconnection activities that support securing value-added investments for Otter Tail Power Company. Guide generators through applicable interconnection, retirement, replacement processes in MISO. Advise company personnel of risks and opportunities. Review and provide direction on tariff, business practice manual, and policy changes and additions. Develop interconnection strategies to maximize generator investment opportunities. Perform studies to determine directions for generator operation. Complete financial analysis to justify study recommendations. Work with generator manufacturers to gain knowledge of specifications, performance and modeling data of generators. Work with consultants on projects and studies to support generation activities. Provide technical data for external agreement negotiations.
