Job Responsibilities
- Prepares and launders soiled linen and clothing; folds and distributes clean linens; labels, cleans, hangs and returns personal clothing to its rightful owner. Inspects mechanical lift slings and sling straps for fraying and wear as directed by the Safe Resident Handling Program.
- Keeps residents' closet / drawer areas orderly; respects residents' storage and laundering decisions.
- Completes appropriate forms and documentation.
- Cleans and disinfects folding table / area, linen trucks and personal delivery carts daily; cleans and disinfects washers and dryers at least daily, (more often if needed) including control panels, and doors; dusts and damp mops laundry room area floors daily.
- Safeguards residents' property.
- Observes and reports residents' conditions to appropriate staff. Receives and shares information.
- Cleans dryer lint screen at least three times daily.
- Demonstrates adherence to OSHA and CDC guidelines to minimize infections by following aseptic techniques including those that apply to blood borne pathogens in sorting and working with laundry, including impervious gowns, clean disposable gloves and sharps disposal.
Qualifications
- Minimum of six months on-site/on-the-job training.
- Ability to communicate and comprehend.
