Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients. This position is for a circulating RN in surgery. The nurse assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period. The nurse practices within the full scope of nursing expertise with knowledge of and utilizing appropriate age related nursing standards.
The registered nurse is responsible to implement the nursing process within Sanford Health and the continuum of care. The nursing process is utilized to assess, diagnose, establish a plan with outcome criteria, intervene, evaluate, and document human responses to actual or potential health problems. This practice includes dependent, interdependent and independent functions.
The Sanford Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice for Nurses, including the standards of practice and standards of professional performance, the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements, and the Social Policy Statement for Nurses as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation for nursing care delivery.

Department Details

This position is for a specialty area: Circulating RN in surgery. The shifts are typically 8 hours plus a call rotation. This is an opportunity to care for patients in the perioperative areas.

Qualifications

Must have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing. Specific services/positions may have additional education, training or experience requirements. Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a
minimum of 400 hours of experience as a RN (or LPN) at another facility.
Requires current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state, or states, of practice. Nurses performing nursing practice over the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients being served reside. Certification may be required depending on specialty or service area.
Typically eight hour shifts plus an on call rotation.
