Position Summary:

The Cleaner is responsible for preparing vacant apartment units in preparation for future residents in accordance with quality expectations. The Cleaner plays a critical role in providing a strong first impression for potential residents.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure decisions made and work completed represents GOLDMARK values.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of all vacant units and, where applicable, other areas of the buildings. Responsible for all cleaning aspects of preparing vacant units including appliances, bathrooms, glass, etc. Detailed cleaning is required including cleaning fixtures, behind appliances, inside cupboards, and any other surface or area in the unit. The unit is to be full cleaned and ready for move-in when finished.
  • Responsible for removing any debris and aiding the maintenance of acceptable curb appeal of the property.
  • Revisits "ready" vacant units that have been ready for more than two weeks to dust, vacuum, and freshen up.
  • Responsible for the care and timely maintenance of all equipment entrusted to his/her care.
  • May be responsible for maintaining cleaning supplies and requesting re-orders of supplies as necessary. Responsible for the proper use of these supplies.
  • Responsible for using supplies and equipment within safety standards and reporting any safety hazards identified.
  • Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience, Education and Licensure:
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, manage time as well as possess an orientation toward details.
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.
  • Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred.


Language Skills:
  • Ability to understand verbal communication and read written requests.
  • Ability to effectively respond to questions from the general public.


Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to solve practical problems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.


Other Requirements:
  • May have to work weekends or evenings to complete required work.
  • Must be able to work safely with cleaning products supplied.

Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, lift or move up to 25 pounds, and speak clearly and hear well.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to work with various cleaning supplies without adverse reactions.


Work Environment:
  • Evening and weekend work is required at times.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be required to work outside and will be exposed to cold, rain, wind, and other weather conditions customary to their location.
  • Responsible for acting in a safe manner at all times and ensuring that other team members do not put themselves or others at risk; working safely is a condition of employment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
