Applications Engineer/Estimator

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for estimating cost of equipment and services proposed, assembling proposal and providing accurate and detailed information to other departments for projects proposed and booked.

Assist in developing standard estimates to be maintained in AHC library.

Prepare Sales Order Digest (SOD) with information required for engineering and manufacturing to proceed for projects awarded.

Collaborate with Applications Manager to develop and maintain proposal templates.
???
Prepare cost estimates for conveyor and equipment systems to meet customer applications.
???
Responsible for determining resources required to complete project.
???
Develop and maintain product description features and benefit sheets for all equipment as required for sales and marketing.
???
Responsible for scheduling ME/EE/MFG proposal review meeting.
???
Responsible for developing Cost-of-Goods-Sold (COGS), to include, estimated material, labor, and controls, and review COGS with Vice President/General Manager if applicable.
???
Responsible for acquiring quotes for buyouts or non-standard components.
???
Validate hours necessary for manufacturing and engineering with appropriate department managers.
???
Collaborate with Electrical Engineer to develop controls costing if necessary.
???
Create Estimate Sheet Summary in the SOD with estimated costs and margins.
???
Review potential project risks and alternative solutions with all stakeholders.
???
Review project scope and match correct Arrowhead Systems product with required application and customer expectations.
???
Reviews contract specifications to assure proper pricing for requested configuration in customer Request for Quote (RFQ).
???
Assist in the definition of project scope and objective, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
???
Establish and maintain relationships with 3rd parties and vendors for quotes.
???
Responsible for communicating with Sales (or inside sales if applicable) to complete RFQ package. Request additional or missing information from Sales to validate an achievable proposal.

Responsible for ensuring all information is acquired to quote project.
???
Complete a Specification Review (with Inside Sales and/or Project Management if applicable) to develop a response to customer's requirements and specifications.
???
Submit proposal document to Inside Sales, Project Management, Salesperson, and Sales Manager as applicable for review.
???
Responsible for creating an accurate proposal to meet customer timeline expectations.
???

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:
Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school): or Work Equivalent

Experience:
2 plus years of experience in Applications/Sales

Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office

Other Requirements:
AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical experience desirable. Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault experience desirable.
