Position Information

Position Description & Details: The Department of Plant Sciences at North Dakota State University is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to work on cold-hardiness, abiotic plant stresses and stress signaling of wine grapes and other small-fruit crops. This position also involves the evaluation of grapevine material for the development of advanced fruit quality and longevity of cold-hardy grapes in the context of environmental instability. The incumbent will conduct the research to complete the objectives outlined in a ND Department of Agriculture Grant and a USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant.

Advertised Salary: $40,000+

Minimum Qualifications:
  • PhD in plant breeding, plant physiology, biochemistry, or related field.
  • Proficiency in the statistical analysis.
  • Experience setting up field experimental designs and data collection.
  • A demonstrated ability to publish original research in peer-reviewed journals is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and able to work with others in a multicultural environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Hands-on experience in abiotic plant stress research and stress signaling.
