Our client, a premier commercial bank in the Twin Cities, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join the bank. This position is responsible for accounting policy across the bank including loan loss, mortgage banking, treasury and bank owned investment activities. Along with policy the position is responsible for managing the tax function which is currently outsourced. The position has excellent visibility across the firm and excellent career growth potential. Our client is requiring a 4-year degree in accounting, 7+ years accounting policy experience in public accounting or industry (ideally both), financial services industry preferably banking and preferably a CPA. Job Requirements:
- High attention to detail

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

- CPA or MBA preferred

- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

- Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

- Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

- Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

- Policy Guidelines experience required

- Strong familiarity with Banking Industry

- Comprehensive knowledge of technical accounting
