Introduction:
History Day is an extra curricula focusing on historical research and an analysis about a topic of the student’s choosing in a competitive format. This is a 7 month post.
History day advisor responsibilities:
As the advisor for history day, it is your responsibility to provide guidance to middle school students that includes but is not limited to selecting and researching a topic that fits the theme chosen by the state historical society, helping students develop critical thinking skills as they learn the basics of how to research, collaborate with each other, and gain valuable experience in a friendly, supportive setting.
History day advisor duties:
Weekly meetings
Communicate with students, parents, and state history day officials.
Guide students through topic selection, how to access research tools, and create thesis statements.
Help students put together exhibit boards
March-May register students and attend competitions
Salary: $1119.00 - $1831.00/Season
