Quality Assurance / Business Analyst

Our client is looking for a Business Analyst / Quality Assurance Tester to participate in documents business flows and processes, analyzes requirements, and participates in design sessions. This position is also the primary quality control and tester of web applications developed by the Agency. The QA Tester will adhere to consistent QA processes and must be experienced in various software testing approaches. The individual coming into this role must be a team player because they will be working so closely with the entire technical project team and may have involvement with business area partners.

Essential Job Duties & Requirements:

• Create test scenarios, test plans, test reports, and track the life cycle of defects.
• Proficiency with industry standard automation testing suites, regression testing is required.
• The role will involve testing across multiple projects within the section and is expected to leverage skills and experience to test complex IT systems.
• Experience working on an application development team, waterfall or agile.
• Identifies and applies best practices.
• Evaluates software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements.
• Evaluates program output and reports for accuracy and policies and procedures for quality.
• Reviews new or modified application/functionality, including documentation and specifications, to determine if final solution(s) will perform according to user request and conform to guidelines.
• Recommends improvements or corrections to development team and testing processes with the customer.
• Additionally, this role will help in facilitating "testable" requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service by driving and facilitating UAT testing processes with the customer.

NOTE: Position will be remote until allowed to go back to the office. Candidate will have to relocate once position goes on-site.

Skills Required:

• 8 years - Participation in project management methodologies including experience with 'agile' methods
• 8 years - Excellent oral and written communication skills
• 5 years - Ability to navigate and query a relational database
• 8 years - Manage systems (QA) testing and support user acceptance testing
• 8 years - Ability to develop and implement quality assurance processes and procedures including test/use cases
• 8 years - Software Development Life Cycle
• 5 years - Documenting business processes
• 5 years - Experience in usability testing or equivalent user interface test measures
• 3 years - Requirements analysis/gathering/Validation
• 8 years - Ability to perform testing of applications, facilitate testing by others, document results
• 8 years - Develop test plans and procedures
• 8 years - Regression testing
• 8 years - Testing Methods/Techniques Including Creation and Execution of Unit, System and User Acceptance Plan
• 6 years - Writing test scripts using automation testing suites

Skills Desired - A plus to have:

• 5 years - Change Management
• 5 years - Participate in design reviews
