Job Description:

Note:This position is remote initially due to COVID, but will be onsite after it is deemed safe to return.

This System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning and support of the Agency infrastructure core server applications and systems. Job activities will include daily operational support for numerous technologies and core agency systems including, but not limited to; Microsoft server support, VMware components, Microsoft 365 components, SharePoint administration, HID smart cards, and other server applications.

The System Administrator will seek to ensure that the uptime, performance, resources, and security of applications they manage meet the needs of the users and ensure that Agency compliance is met.

This Administrator will have an integral liaison role in working with numerous different technical support teams across different agencies. They will be responsible to maintain system integrity in the administration of servers, provisioning of file services, data backup and recovery. The System Administrator will also be required to maintain an inventory of Agency servers, backup policies, installed applications, and end user program access or use. The candidate will need to have excellent communication skills to assist with operations work and project tasks. The Candidate should have advanced level knowledge of core Microsoft technologies. These include but not limited to: Active Directory Domain Services, DHCP, DNS, Group Policies, Distributed File Services and security, certificate creation and renewal, and Windows Server Operating systems 2012 and 2016. Working experience with Windows server 2019 is recommended as well as experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and support.

The candidate is required to have practical work experience with VMware and PowerShell scripting. Having knowledge and experience on two-factor authentication with systems like OneSpan, Vasco Digipass, HID Smart Cards, or other two-factor authentication systems will be a plus in hiring considerations.

The candidate will follow industry standard best practices and have experience with OSI model troubleshooting methodologies.

Strong verbal and written communications is required. The candidate should have experience creating technical documentation, policies, and procedures. On call hours are required with this position. It requires the tech to respond quickly and handle whatever is needed promptly. Rotations that cover holidays require 24 hour continuous coverage/availability.
