Project Engineer

The Phoenix Company is a rapidly growing 128-year-old company based out of Milwaukee, WI that specializes in the design and manufacture of durable LED lighting for a variety of markets. Our lights make the world a safer place.We are seeking a resourceful, team-oriented Project Engineer to provide project management and technical leadership for product development and sales projects at Phoenix. The Project Engineer will provide application engineering expertise and product technical support to the sales team and internal/external customers.Project Engineer Responsibilities include: For product development and sales projects, provide technical leadership and coordination among project teams comprised of multiple disciplines and cross-functional groups from engineering, supply chain, sales, and operations.Work with project teams to develop & upgrade luminaire products and execute new product development (NPD) process.Provide technical leadership for sales project proposals, engaging with contractors, suppliers, sales, and internal company stakeholders.Responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation, proposal, and implementation throughout the sales process.Complete technical evaluation of tender documents. Recommend Phoenix solution including product selection, modifications, and deviations.Provide sales team with technical specifications and proposed drawings that meet customer requirements. Collaborate closely with sales in preparation of bid documents. Identify technical advantages of Phoenix offering and prepare appropriate documentation to highlight those.On projects won, coordinate technical design packages, and communicate with customers/installers for a successful project. Responsible for planning/scheduling of the project and implementation of projects approved/won.Provide technical support for sales team and customer with on-site assessment and troubleshooting issues in the field.RequirementsRequirements include: ??? Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent ??? Minimum of 5 years of experience in general application lighting & controls related field??? Experience with luminaire product development and engineering??? Familiarity with specification and sales process for the lighting market??? Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with product management to track status, and deadlines of project events.??? A team player that works well in a collaborative environment.
