Job Summary
  • Good Samaritan Society - Home Care in Robbinsdale provides care and services to individuals living in the Minneapolis and St. Paul metropolitan area
  • This role will; join our team in the office and conduct insurance billing, clinical coding, intakes, and follow up phone calls
  • Full Time roles with the Good Samaritan Society offer competitive benefits; Health, Dental, Vision, 23 days of PTO, and 401k w/matching!
  • Shift times are Monday through Friday from 8am to 430pm

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintains knowledge of health information management related policies and procedures
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to assure Health Information Management is provided with all necessary information regarding new admissions in a timely manner
  • Assists in routing correspondence, telephone orders and physician's orders to physician for review and signature on a timely basis
  • Maintains knowledge of the HIPAA Privacy policies and procedures and works to ensure compliance and enforcement with these policies and procedures
  • Responsible for compiling, processing and billing insurance claims
  • Cross train and have working knowledge of general accepted accounting procedures, internal controls and CPA accounting controls
  • Works denials, makes corrections and re-bills claims as needed
  • Maintains complete and accurate patient data files; initiates and responds to inquiries or requests for additional information and outstanding balance resolution.

Qualifications
  • 1-2 years medical billing experience (ICD-10 experience a plus)
  • Licensed Piratical Nurse on the Minnesota Registery
  • Basic ability to communicate and comprehend; knowledge of standard health information management practices; familiarity with office machines
