Job Summary

$1700 Sign-On Bonus

Good Samaritan Society- Stillwater is a 68-bed long-term care and transitional care facility located in the beautiful Minnesota St. Croix River Valley.
  • Part Time - 50 hours a pay period
  • Day Shift - 800am to 100pm (weekdays) and 630am to 1130am (weekends)

Job Responsibilities

Laundry Responsibilities
  • Prepares and launders soiled linen and clothing; folds and distributes clean linens; labels, cleans, hangs and returns personal clothing to its rightful owner.
  • Inspects mechanical lift slings and sling straps for fraying and wear as directed by the Safe Resident Handling Program.
  • Keeps residents' closet / drawer areas orderly; respects residents' storage and laundering decisions.
  • Completes appropriate forms and documentation.
  • Cleans and disinfects folding table / area, linen trucks and personal delivery carts daily; cleans and disinfects washers and dryers at least daily, (more often if needed) including control panels, and doors; dusts and damp mops laundry room area floors daily.
  • Maintains residents' self-esteem, privacy and confidentiality of personal information.
  • Cleans dryer lint screen at least three times daily.
  • Demonstrates adherence to OSHA and CDC guidelines to minimize infections by following aseptic techniques including those that apply to blood borne pathogens in sorting and working with laundry, including impervious gowns, clean disposable gloves and sharps disposal.

Housekeeping Responsibilities
  • Follows routine cleaning schedules cleans floors of soils, stains and debris, ensuring corners are free of dirt; clean walls and doors; dusts and cleans furniture; cleans bed frames, mattresses, toilets, sinks, bathroom vents and empties and cleans wastebaskets.
  • Ensures drapes and privacy curtains are free of dust, dirt and stains and hung properly.
  • Follows special cleaning procedures as assigned and necessary, including discharge cleaning and isolation cleaning.
  • Keeps residents' items and call light within reach per residents' preference and location policy.
  • Monitors / reports lingering odors throughout the location; takes appropriate action corrective action to prevent odors from lingering.
  • Offers residents choices / options for times to have room cleaned; respects and reports residents' refusals.
  • Explains procedures to resident's before and during cleaning, unless disruptive for the resident.
  • Keep chemicals secured in locked area as per policy.
  • Adheres to OSHA and CDC guidelines to minimize infections by following aseptic cleaning techniques, including those that apply to blood borne pathogens.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in Laundry or Housekeeping beneficial but to required.
  • Ability to communicate and comprehend.
