Typical Day in the Life

A typical day as an Administrative Assistant in Bismarck might include the following:
  • Processing client electronic or paper filed income tax return forms and documents.
  • Backup receptionist answering phones, greeting clients and directing them to the correct person.
  • Enter time record keeping and perform client maintenance, billing and set-up within various software systems.
  • Coordinate staff meetings, conference calls and webcasts.
  • Assist OLC (Office Learning Coordinator) in coordinating firmwide training.
  • Work with spreadsheets, track data in databases and utilize firm portal.
  • Assist partners, managers and staff with all office activities (typing, faxing, scanning, copying, scheduling travel).
  • Researching information for partners, managers and staff using the internet and other resources.
  • Review, sort and route incoming mail; distribute outgoing mail.
  • Open to new challenges and assisting with special projects as requested.
  • Pick up additional administrative responsibilities when needed.

  • You have a strong client service mentality.
  • You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • You thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
  • You are a multi-tasking master and there has never been a deadline you could not meet.
  • You hold yourself to the highest professional standards and maintain strict client confidentiality.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • You are dependable in your day to day responsibilities.
  • You can work overtime and Saturdays during busy tax filing periods.
  • You love collaborating and being part of a team but also enjoy working alone with limited supervision.
  • You have a high school diploma, 2+ years of past administrative support experience.

Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.
