Job Summary

Responsible for assessing, managing, and documenting needs related to rules and regulations, compliance, risk management, and safety. Responsible for developing, reviewing and maintaining standard operating procedures related to Radiation Safety. Coordinates, develops, and provides ongoing radiation safety education. Leads the competency process and validation. Is self-directed and accountable for ongoing learning and education.
Serves as a resource to those identified as customers/clients. Ability to analyze and synthesize data to assess and evaluate educational needs. Works closely with Human Resources, Consulting Education Specialists, Contracting School Affiliates, NRC, and all governing bodies.
Demonstrates effective collaborative skills with administrators, other educators, and/or health team members to identify learning needs and the resources necessary to meet customer/client needs. Flexible and rapidly responds to and/or facilitates planned organizational changes.
Displays effective planning, organizational skills, presentation skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, and flexibility. Completes Institutional Review Board applications when related to research.
Responsible with policies related to the Radiation Safety processes and requirements. Works to institute overall enforcement of federal, state, and local regulations concerning radiation. Prepares documents and Quality Assurance (QA) processes for licensers and requesters. Maintains records as required for guidelines.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree is required. Master's degree preferred. Graduate of an accredited technical program in nuclear medicine is required. Minimum of three years of clinical experience is required.
Obtainment of initial Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within three months of entry into the position and maintain certification bi-annually thereafter. Certified by the National Nuclear Medicine organization such as the American Board of Science in Nuclear Medicine (SNM) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) or equivalent).
