We are hiring for a Caretaker and is a resident to receive a rent credit!

Position Summary:

The Caretaker is responsible for performing the overall housekeeping services of the building, excluding vacant units, under the direction of the Site Manager. They are responsible for maintaining a "sparkling clean" first impression of the property for residents and potential residents. Snow shoveling walk areas in the winter.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure decisions made and work completed represent GOLDMARK values.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of all common areas including hallways, stairways, and landings. Cleaning includes vacuuming, dusting baseboards, washing marks off the walls, and mopping the entryway floors and laundry room floors. Clean glass entry doors, windows, windowsills and extinguisher cases.
  • Dispose of garbage from laundry room trash. Disposal of all paper, pop cans, etc. within 24 hours in all common areas. Responsible for removing any debris and aiding the maintenance of acceptable curb appeal of the property.
  • Sweep off outside steps or stoops.
  • Clean washers/dryers, particularly under washer lids. Clean behind and alongside washers/dryers.
  • Wash light fixtures.
  • Wipe down top of mailboxes and remove any paper taped to the walls.
  • Clean any other obvious areas that need attention in the common areas and restrooms.
  • Remove debris on lawn, sidewalks, and driveways/parking lots as well as maintain playgrounds (were applicable).
  • Water lawns, shrubs, and bushes.
  • Pull and/or spray weeds around garages/building and in flowerbeds.
  • Apply ice melt and/or sand to keep sidewalks free from ice. Remove snow and maintain snow calendar where applicable.
  • Responsible for the care and timely maintenance of all equipment entrusted to his/her care.
  • May be responsible for maintaining cleaning supplies and requesting re-orders of supplies as necessary. Responsible for the proper use of these supplies.
  • Responsible for using supplies and equipment within safety standards and reporting any safety hazards identified.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience, Education and Licensure:
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, manage time, as well as possess an orientation toward details.
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.
  • Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred.


Language Skills:
  • Ability to understand verbal communication and read written requests.
  • Ability to effectively respond to questions from the general public.


Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to solve practical problems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.


Other Requirements :
  • Must be able to work safely with cleaning products supplied.
  • Will have to work weekends or evenings to complete required work.

  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to work with various cleaning supplies without adverse reactions.


Work Environment :
  • Evening and weekend work is required at times.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be required to work outside and will be exposed to cold, rain, wind, and other weather conditions customary to their location.
  • Responsible for acting in a safe manner at all times and ensuring that other team members do not put themselves or others at risk; working safely is a condition of employment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
