Eventide Heartland is currently looking for a full-time Cook/Culinary Assistant. 32 hours per week if worker is willing to cook and work as a culinary assistant. Shifts vary from day 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM and pm (12:00 PM - 8:30 PM). Every other weekend and holiday rotation. Cooking will be required every other weekend and on weekdays as needed. Most weekday shifts will be as a culinary assitant.

On site childcare available from 5:30 AM - 11:00 PM 7-days a week.
On-site wellness center available free of charge 24-hours a day!


The Cook is responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served to residents complying with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards and following established food production procedures.

Requirements for Cook:

-High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

-A culinary degree is preferred.

-Prefer a minimum of 2 years cooking experience.

-Requires knowledge of food safety and sanitation. -Catering and supervisory experience helpful.

Essential Job Functions for Cook:
  • Prepares high quality meals according to standardized recipes.
  • Uses and directs the use of accurate portion control standards.
  • Organizes and plans work schedule to meet times for serving meals.
  • Assures that sanitary conditions are maintained in the kitchen at all times.
  • Checks all menus daily in order to verify that all necessary items are prepared as needed.
  • Stores leftovers properly according to food handling standards.
  • Operates equipment in a correct, safe, sanitary and respectful manner.
  • Supervises the entire dining experience to ensure resident satisfaction of meal service.
  • Checks temperatures of food products and documents in temperature log.
  • Completes cleaning tasks as assigned according to schedule.
  • Cleans equipment and work area to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met.
  • Inventories and orders food products; ensuring adequate inventory of items on hand.

Essential Job Functions for the Assistant
  • Offers and serves menu choices to residents in a cheerful and respectful manner.
  • Follows portion control standards.
  • Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes all dishes, tables, equipment, utensils and containers used to provide meals as well as other assigned cleaning duties.
  • Operates equipment in a correct, safe, sanitary and respectful manner.
  • Prepares various menu items as assigned.
  • Checks daily menu items in order to verify that all necessary items are prepared and labeled.
  • Stores leftovers appropriately according to food handling standards.
  • Performs assigned duties according to appropriate time schedules.
  • Operates dish machine according to directions. Pre-soaks and sorts dishes and utensils
