Grant County, an Equal Opportunity Employer, located in Elbow Lake is currently accepting applications for the position of a full-time Heavy Equipment Operator. Required qualifications include a high school diploma and experience operating a variety of heavy machinery. A state of MN Class A CDL driver's license is required. The position, under the direction of the Maintenance Foreman, is responsible for maintaining county roads, assisting in road repairs, and construction activities.
Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible for performing general preventative maintenance to assigned pieces of equipment; assisting project crews in various maintenance, signing or patching activities; and snow removal procedures. Knowledge of safety laws and rules of the road, basic highway construction procedures and principles, and building, road and bridge maintenance standards and practices preferred. Experience operating tandem trucks, motor graders, rollers, backhoes, bulldozers, front end loaders, and tractors desired.
The Heavy Equipment Operator is a full-time, non-exempt, union position. Anticipated beginning pay is $18.85 per hour. Health insurance and pension benefits are also offered.
