Assistant County Attorney Full Time, exempt position. Salary: $72,674.72 annually. Full benefit package available.
Perform professional legal and advisory services, as prescribed by the County Attorney, to accomplish effective representation of state, county and county personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
* graduation from an accredited college of law (attach transcript)
* licensed and admitted to practice law in the State of Minnesota (attach copy of licensure and attorney registration number)
* valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation
* successful completion of a criminal background check and Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board check, all contingent upon a job offer
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge:
* principles of criminal and civil law and their application
* legal research methods
* United States and Minnesota Constitution
* trial procedure and the rules of evidence
* administrative law
Skills:
* establish and maintain effective working relationships
* communicate effectively in oral, written, and graphic presentations
Abilities:
* analyze and apply legal principles, facts, evidence and precedents to leg present statements of law, facts and arguments clearly, logically and forcefully, both in written and
verbal form
* work well with others; ability and willingness to follow rules and procedures and follow directives from supervisors
Preference Qualifications:
* work experience in the following areas of law: prosecution; public defender; judicial law clerk; governmental/municipal public law (i.e. contracts, data practices, bid law, tax court, municipal/county board representation)
