Under the supervision of the QC Manager, the Weld Inspector will educate, train and develop all personal who perform in a welding capacity. The weld inspector will also inspect all structural welds to conform to AWS D1.1, 6.1.4. Inspect dimensional and audit paint log.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Certify work completed will in factory will pass AWS D1.1, 6.1.4, and will be able to produce written documentation of verification.
  • Audit, inspect in process material for dimensional accuracy
  • Educate current weld employees on the principals of welding, how to achieve a 'good weld.
  • Learn and follow all procedures associated with the fabricating department, ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings.
  • Identify materials correctly for processing.
  • Understand weld symbols.
  • Train, develop and mentor new employees on how to properly weld.
  • Certify all weld employees to AWS D1.1.
  • When needed, assist engineering in determining weld sizing and type.
  • Must be able to write WPS's.
  • Must be able to qualify WPS's.
  • Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations.
