Kelly Services is seeking a Proposal Writer for one of the largest financial services holding companies in the United States. Job Title: Proposal Writer
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Remote to start)
Type: Temp, potential Temp-To-Hire
Length: 6-Months
Est. Start Date: 12/3/2020
Hours: 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $29.80 per hour
Overview:
  • Responsible for writing responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) under strict deadlines and creating additional documents, including pricing proposals, standard program proposals and ad hoc documents for external clients.
  • Projects are coordinated with sales representatives and relationship managers in field offices. Manages projects independently and with adherence to detailed client specifications, with turnaround times in a typical range of one day to three weeks.
  • Interacts with sales/relationship management staffs to integrate pricing into formal proposal documents, and interacts with product, marketing and sales/relationship management staffs to update product information and sales positioning and to customize proposals to the agreed-upon sales strategy.
Essential Functions:
  • Write, edit, organize and package responses to Requests for Proposals in compliance with detailed client requirements on stringent deadlines to ensure Bank's qualification in bid process
  • Proofread proposals for content, grammar, style, formatting
  • Keep current on program, technical, product and service enhancements or changes as they occur
  • Work with subject matter experts to answer specific client questions and record new information in proposals accurately
  • Provide ongoing writing support to sales and relationship management staff
  • Update proposal language as needed
  • Ensure sales positioning is aligned with sales strategy for each proposal
Specifications:
  • Business writing experience in sales support, proposal generation, marketing, communications, publishing or print media.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or related field preferred.
  • Proven writing, editing and proofreading abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively on unfamiliar topics to elicit technical and program information necessary to answer client questions.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new information regarding specific product and technical topics and write accurately about those topics or concepts immediately after introduction.
  • Strong organizational skills and an eye for presentation and details a must.
  • Ability to manage routine administrative tasks.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Possesses technical ability to adapt to those proposal tools and software used by the team.
