Responsible for building and executing community education based on the Community Health Needs Assessment and the 3-year Implementation StrategyPartner with content experts in the hospital and clinics to deliver educational classes.Work with local agency partners and schools to develop and implement community events based on health needs - areas of opportunity are behavioral health, physical activity and nutrition, food security, community safety, among others.Develops, coordinates and presents educational programs and opportunities within the department. Communicates to nurses from surrounding hospitals and facilitates their enrollment in appropriate educational offerings.Evaluates and revises curriculum based on research, best practice and/or professional standards. Acts as a consultant for educational issues and provides feedback regarding overall educational approach. Maintains records as required by the Joint Commission and hospital administration. Develops, plans, coordinates and implements in-service and continuing education programs and activities.Arranges for, completes and forwards room set-up requests in a timely manner. Responsible for setting up and operating audiovisual equipment.Scheduled Hours Hours will vary. Primarily first shift, however, some classes occur in the evenings. Some duties will require weekend or evening participation - typicallyLicenses & CertificationsRegistered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices, andBasic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providerscertification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required. DegreesBachelor's Degree in Nursing. Required Functional ExperienceTypically requires 3 years of experience in clinical nursing.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) or similar products. Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
