Job Description
The Senior Program Manager maintains responsibility for managing large-scale highly complex multi-faceted new product development programs strategic initiatives or integrations involving internal and external development partners. All projects and programs will involve leading multi-functional & global core teams with both internal and external team members. Responsibilities include the planning of all program subsystem and project deliverables synchronization and prioritization of Core Team activities. Scope includes driving the team in the development of a business case management of the overall program schedule resource requirements risk assessment and project investment analysis and budget. The Senior Program Manager is responsible for directly and indirectly driving program execution and all development efforts while ensuring that all program deliverables and efforts are connected and meet internal and external customer requirements and follow Olympus Surgical Technologies of America's Product Development Process including progress reporting and reviews by senior leadership.
Job Duties
In a typical day, you will:

* Plans and executes highly complex large scale internal and external development efforts.

* Lead the team in the early stage business case development and planning efforts of a project.

* Participate & facilitate as needed the early stage process of gathering customer input and outlining the user requirements for the project.

* Ability to perform early stage assessments on budgetary estimates and resource requirements.

* Build team ownership and commitment to project and business plans and define project milestones deliverables and associated resource requirements.

* Proactively identify and assess areas of risk escalate issues in a timely manner and proactively propose solutions.

* Provide regular project updates (written and verbal) to appropriate management board; depending on type of project.

* Ensures team accountability and milestone achievements Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve timely project outputs.

* Provides direction and guidance as well as coaching and mentoring as needed to all Core Team and Extended team members as well as partners.

* Effectively manages performance issues and conflicts Provides input to functional directors/managers on team member performance.

* Project planning and management responsibilities for all assigned projects. Includes development of a project charter objectives project plan and schedule.

* Develops and manages budgets for the project including resource loading external expenses and capital requirements.

* Gains cooperation and commitment from people through influence not authority.

*Actively seeks collaboration and builds relationships with internal customers and external partners to improve overall outcomes and timely project execution.

* Perform other essential duties as directed.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical Field required.

* Minimum 5 years of experience in the medical device field minimum 6 years of successful demonstrated experience in managing large technically complex new product development projects.

* Position requires up to 20% domestic and 5% International travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* MBA preferred

* Proven experience leading early stage development teams including exposure to business case development and user requirement identification.

* Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency with a drive for results.

* Highly effective at dealing with change and ambiguity as business needs shift responding well under pressure and demonstrating flexibility while ensuring compliance.

* Excellent influence facilitation and problem solving skills.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* PMP certification preferred.

* Group facilitation mediation and conflict resolution skills.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfortable presenting to different audiences including experience presenting to Executive Management Teams.
