The Systems Architect is responsible for understanding the portfolio of engineering products and evolving products/services to meet the changing needs of the business. This role will create collaborative partnerships with other product teams to effectively prioritize work for existing and new capabilities needed to deliver key outcomes for TCF's internal customers. The Systems Architect will champion practices for improving delivery and consumption of products/services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Major Areas of Accountability

Collaborate with other engineers and architects to create and maintain tools, technologies, and automated processes that enable a frictionless delivery across multiple products/services.
Capable of unwinding complex interactions and simplifying systems & solutions, integrating applications, and choosing solutions
Lead the introduction of new practices to build out automated systems and frameworks that enable seamless delivery
Creates a culture of measured and continuous improvement
Champion & model the usage of engineering and software development best practices to streamline product/service delivery
Understand complex product interactions and design scalable, and quality product suites that meet the business needs. Champion practices that provide repeatable delivery and transparency as a routine part of engineering activities.
Clearly communicate at all levels of the organization; drive the development of delivery best practices and work closely with key stakeholders to prioritize work on key outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related field or equivalent work experience

Preferred:

Master's degree in a related field

Work Experience/Skills:

Required:

10+ years of experience beginning with engineering/development and moving into the design, creation, delivery, integration, and operations of complex engineering systems; has maintained hands-on expertise
Expert in creating organizational momentum to facilitate the adoption of software engineering best practices to automate the delivery of engineering products
Expert in optimizing/simplifying off-the-shelf software packages, automation, integration, and upgrades.
Able to quickly adopt new programming/scripting languages and coach/mentor others
Ability to articulate and transfer complex ideas to a wide audience through both verbal and written communication.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal, client-facing, and presentation skills. Strong influencing skills.
Must be articulate and have the ability to meet with high-level management to present and/or deliver technical documentation.
