Job Responsibilities
This position provides care, supervision and management to children in a caring, safe and efficient manner and is responsible to perform the following according to location standards and procedures.
Plans menu for meals and snacks and assures children's dietary needs are met. Develops curriculum that meets children's needs and leads or assists with activities. Safeguards children's property. Keeps daycare areas pleasant and orderly. Maintains children's self-esteem, privacy and confidentiality of personal information. Provides children with opportunities for independence and choice consistent with their development level. Maintains accurate records on all children. Receives and shares information on child's status with parents and staff. Demonstrates/encourages quality care for the whole individual. Formulates and works within an annual budget. Recruits, hires, and staffs work area at appropriate levels. Acquires resources and means that promote a quality work environment. Assists and participates in the QA/CQI process ensuring quality performance, conformance with regulations, standards and laws, and customer satisfaction. Keeps abreast of and implements new programs or practices. Accepts accountability for activities under direct control; plans and organizes work with and for department; exercises sound judgment and decision-making; promotes cooperative working relationships within and between departments.
Qualifications
High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Prior work experience may be required to be hired into this job. Specific training per state requirements; a combination of college education (education or early childhood) and experience is desirable.
Ability to measure and comprehend quantities.
Demonstrated knowledge of supervisor skills; knowledge of basic childcare skills.
