Job Description
- An Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for completing the following duties:
- Provide accurate and timely financial services under general supervision for one or more subsidiaries
- Ensure expenditure procedures are adhered to consistently, payments are issued timely and available discounts are taken
- Perform month-end and year-end AP close activities, and provide quality service to vendors and internal customers
- Verify that appropriate general ledger coding, approvals, and backup are completed via paperless system
- Input vouchers into E1 with appropriate terms, codes, purchase order numbers, and vendor master information
- Perform PO matching in E1 and follows up on discrepancies with purchasers/buyers
- Ensure that recurring payments are updated and issued in accordance with contracts
- Research and solve problems with vendors and generate corrections
- Provide consistently, high quality, timely service to all inquirers
- Execute weekly check runs (including employee expense reports) and as requested, per policy and payment schedule
- Apply scrutiny to check requests ensuring policy and internal control procedures are adhered to
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) year Associates degree preferred
- Experience in processing accounts payable or accounting preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and an ERP system preferred
