Role Summary/Purpose The Integration Engineer will consult and work with the USCAN Sales/Service/Support teams, customers, and 3rd party vendors to design, install, configure, test, and support interfaces between GE Ultrasound IT products and various HIS/RIS/EMR systems. This role is responsible for ensuring that interface deliverables (schedule and technical requirements) are achieved, emphasizing quality and a strict attention to details, while optimizing the customers experience

Essential Responsibilities

- Install and integrate GEs Ultrasound IT software into the customers HIS/RIS/EMR environment.
- Define interface objectives and scope of work, functionality, dataflow, workflow, and HL7 specifications.
- Design, install, configure, test, Organizationify interface code and provide go-live support.
- Work closely with project teams, including 3rd party vendors, to ensure timelines and technical requirements.
- Communicate statuses to project team members, customers and stakeholders, and managers.
- Serve as an interface domain expert and consultant for both internal and external customers.
- Travel to customer sites and regional headquarters, as required.
- Provide technical sales support and direction.
- Provide system training to physicians, IT staff, and other clinical and/or technical users.
- Maintain and support existing customer installations
- Collect, organize, and prioritize enhancement requests for engineering with appropriate follow-up touchpoints.
Qualifications/Requirements
This position is open to candidates internal and external to GE. Employee may work remotely from a home office, preferably within the Western USA region. Primary regions covered are the West/Mtn/Central zones and Canada.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or STEM discipline or comparable work experience
- 4+ years in HL7 programming and clinical software integration
- Experience with at least one HL7 communication server Mirth Connect, Cloverleaf, BizTalk, CorePoint, JCAPS, Rhapsody etc. (Mirth Connect experience desirable)
- Proficient in script-based/object-oriented programming Javascript, XML/XSLT, TCL, HTML etc. (Javascript experience desirable)
- Sybase/SQL or equivalent database experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% within the United States, Canada and Europe.
- Unrestricted work authorization in the US without sponsorship
- Willingness to submit to and pass a drug test and educational employment and criminal background checks
