Patient Financial Services Representative

OverviewThis position is responsible for working with a team and supporting management for behavorial health facility and professional charges. Individual is responsibile for all revenue cycle processces including but not limited to finiancial securing, insurance verification, obtaining prior authorizations, claim follow up and denial management. Responsibilities/Job DescriptionWorking payor correspondence Understanding insurance benefits, insurance verfication and billing patients insurance timely following all payor policies/guidelinesObtain prior authorizationsPerform timely claim follow up to ensure reimbursement for servicesEffectively work insurance denials an appeal when necessary with knowledge of payor policies/guidelinesWork complex accounts effectivelyAccept incoming calls from patients regarding benefits, authorization and billing questionsProvide cost estimates and collect pre-service deposits for servicesAbility to work with and communicate professionally with clinical staff, patients, insurance companies and any others involved in the treatment planQualificationsRequiredTwo or more years of business office experience (1 in a hospital or clinic business office)ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:Excel knowledgeInsurance knowledgeBehavorial/Mental Health clinical, insurance claims process or business office knowledgeKnowledge of professional and facility billing including reading payor remittances and payor websitesMedical terminologyAbility to multi-taskAbility to problem solveStong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independantly and as a team
