The Director, Executive Development will lead the design and implementation of a global executive and leadership strategy for Thomson Reuters. This role will partner with business leaders and talent/HR partners to deliver leading edge leadership education and experiences. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building best-in-class executive and leadership development programs ideally in high growth, agile and technology-focused organizations. This role will report to the VP, Leadership Development.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role encompasses many elements, including, but not limited to:

Working in partnership with the talent team and wider People function, business leaders and external vendors (where relevant) to design, build and implement executive and key talent (high potential) development programs, experiences and practices
Creating custom development strategies for executives and leadership pipeline talent
Designing and facilitating specific executive and leadership development interventions, as well as conducting individual coaching or consultations with executives and leaders as needed
Researching cutting-edge developments in the leadership development space and keeping abreast of latest external thinking
Consulting with business leaders to understand development needs
Overseeing measurement strategy including business results, ROI, enhanced leadership development pipeline, retention and flow of talent
Utilizing various delivery mechanisms to provide effective learning - including video, online, social, etc.
Assessing external partners and managing relationships, as required

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND KEY ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

To meet the challenge, the ideal candidate should possess the following:

Bachelors' degree in HR, Organizational Behavior, Business, or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Master's degree preferred
7-10 years of experience working in executive and leadership development
Subject-matter expertise in executive and leadership development
Extensive knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design, personality and leadership assessments, coaching models and 360 tools
Superior consulting/organization development skills, able to accurately diagnose organizational/talent needs, provide insight and lead/contribute to the development of value driving solutions
Ability to establish strong presence with executives and leaders at all levels
Extensive experience in the facilitation of leadership development programs and courses
Passion for learning and translating research findings into insights for the organization and practical recommendations
Deep commercial and customer acumen - understands the drivers of profit and loss and what drives value for the customer
Ability to partner effectively with third parties
Executive coaching experience desirable
Able to provide insight through understanding of business needs, subject matter expertise and knowledge of external best practices
Takes an enterprise view, able to challenge and collaborate with senior business and HR leaders
Curious - strong external network, constantly scanning the external world for relevant insights/activity that could benefit TR
Superior interpersonal and communication skills
Willingness to collaborate across boundaries and across business teams
Action oriented and results driven
