What you'll be doing...

The OSP Geospatial Engineer IV will be responsible for fiber network analysis in the Upper Midwest (UMW) region working with the market OSP engineers, PMs and Manager's. You will gather geospatial data from 3GIS, our market vendors, and market teams to perform route analysis. In addition, you will work with our financial team to run cost analysis of fiber configurations. You will have strong, working knowledge of archmap to help represent current and forecasted network configurations. You will also work on fiber process teams and will perform training for the UMW OSP market engineers.
  • Develop market network fiber maps to represent build disposition.
  • Utilize knowledge of fiber cable sizing, cable counts, cable record management, fiber characteristics, transmission protocols, route diversity, route protection plus front-haul and back-haul concepts.
  • Perform financial analysis on market fiber builds.
  • Provide fiber build guidance to market engineers and managers.
  • Lead RFP and OFS analysis with market teams.
  • Work in a diverse group of team members, both internal and external, to solve complex problems and implement innovative solutions to meet our customer expectations.

As a strong communicator, you build relationships with a diverse range of people and explain complex technical issues in a way that everyone can understand

You'll need to have:
  • Associate's degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:
  • Experience in Geospatial Engineering/Analysis.
  • Knowledge of industry and company standards for OSP design and build.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to make network design decisions based on Engineering Guidelines and current field conditions.
  • Communications skills possessing the ability to effectively interact with both highly technical and non-technical team members.
