This is a chance for a Manufacturing Engineer to use his/her leadership skills and step into a managerial role, or a current Manufacturing Engineering Manager to take over and put their own stamp on processes and make it their own. Business is booming and this company has been considered an Essential Business and has not had any layoffs within the current pandemic and/or prior recent years. Manufacturing facility in Minnesota has 100 people or less, but there's other manufacturing facilities in Asia. If you have an electro-mechanical assembly background, and are looking to be in charge of your own manufacturing floor, this might be the opportunity for you. You will report to the VP of Operations. 90% of this position is Manufacturing, and 10% Quality Leadership. Position: Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Manager Position Description Establish and represent the Manufacturing Engineering and Quality function. Provide leadership and hands-on involvement in manufacturing systems/processes, equipment and technologies to optimize costs, quality and responsiveness. Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement and optimize production assembly and test processes.Interface with Product Engineering personnel on new and existing product designs to assure products can be consistently produced to specification.Participate in the New Product Development process to ensure new product manufacturability is consistent with production capabilities/processes and cost objectives. Team-up with Product Engineering and Production personnel in pilot runs and scale up activities.Identify and/or design, install and qualify new equipment/technologies, tooling and fixtures in order to improve and expand production capabilities (including vertical integration). Trouble-shoot and correct production equipment and process issues. Pursue automation opportunities.Assure safety and ergonomics needs are met related to work processes and equipment/tooling.Provide input on production area layouts to maximize work efficiency and optimize flow of materials. Incorporate 6 Sigma / Lean manufacturing methodologies.Assure accurate and complete production assembly and test documentation (ex. operating procedures, work instructions, etc.)Provide technical leadership and training to production assembly personnel.Define and maintain production labor standards. Monitor associated efficiency and productivity measurements and take actions with production personnel to optimize.Lead the establishment of work centers and routings, including utilization within the company ERP system.Identify and take actions to eliminate waste and drive down production costs.Understand and help assure manufacturing compliance to all applicable customer and regulatory requirements.Become the point person for quality. Assure the measurement and analysis of key quality indicators. Communicate and present associated data/information to area and company leadership.Provide support related to the identification, implementation and maintenance of controls within the company to assure high quality products.Manage the Warranty Return function. Lead the analysis and investigation into customer complaints and field failures in order to identify reliability trends/issues and implement quality improvements.Provide support and become involved with supplier and customer interactions as needed. Qualifications and SkillsBachelor's degree in engineering. Manufacturing or Mechanical engineering is preferred.7-10 years of experience in industrial manufacturing and electro-mechanical assembly with a track record of meaningful contributions and success.Solid knowledge of manufacturing, tooling/fixturing, automation, quality, CAD software (Solidworks) and ERP Systems (NetSuite preferred).Experience in the following areas and use of related tools/software is beneficial - DFM/DFMA, Six Sigma/Lean, and Microsoft Project.Strong technical and interpersonal skills - analytical and problem-solving skills, oral and written communication skills, initiative, problem solver, collaborator, change agent.Shares and models Pinnacle Core Values - Customer Focused / Team Player / Positive Attitude / Accountable & Dependable / Do the Right Thing Reporting RelationshipReports to VP of OperationsDirect Reports include: Warranty Return / Quality Technician Competitive compensation based on qualifications and experienceBenefits include healthcare, dental, 401K, PTO, life and disability insurance, etc.
