The Architect of Material Science proves a concept to be valid by the application of scientific and engineering methodologies. The work typically has the objective of demonstrating through test or analyses the performance and implementation potential of a concept. The Architect is a technology expert responsible for implementing a product and sCompanyystem technology.

Essential Responsibilities

The Architect is an influential leader, a member of the business Technology Career Path, guides strategic technology & architecture decision, understands competitive trends & applies to project/program and supports Senior Architects & Principals in developing & implementing the product technology vision & road map.
Conceptual, or theoretical activities relating to the development, improvement, and usage of materials, coatings, and processes undertaken to build, apply, or shape the materials.
Leads analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.
Communicates across direct organization.
Presents to senior leaders in specific technical space and on cross functional teams on how technologies interconnect and contribute to overall strategy.
Connects the dots across technologies and develop cross-technology solutions; works on cross-functional projects/teams to deliver technology solutions for the business. Communicates across the function in area of expertise.
Find and correct any product failure using systematic problem-solving approach and evaluate technical & economic factors concerning the design objectives of products or processes.
Qualifications/Requirements
Master of Science or PhD in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field and 4 years relevant work experience.
Desired Characteristics
Six sigma certifications.
Monitor & evaluate how materials, joining methods like brazing etc., processes like coating etc., perform over time and suggest improvement opportunities as appropriate.
Determine causes of product failure and develop ways of overcoming such failure.
Design and supervise the testing of processing procedures.
Collaborate with professionals across many fields, perseverance, curiosity and an unrelenting pursuit of discovery.
