Position Overview

The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist serves as a trusted advisor and partner to the Talent Manager and Hiring leaders; providing full-cycle recruitment services, analytic support and technical services to address Digi-Key's operational and strategic recruitment, selection and staffing opportunities. Central to this work is partnering with the Talent Managers to gain a strong understanding of the talent needs of the assigned designated business area(s). The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist/Recruiter is accountable for developing, driving and executing strategies that attract and recruit talent to Digi-Key. The position facilitates involvement and participation in the planning and delivery of recruiting programs (e.g. campus recruiting, internship programs) and actively participates in a variety of employment initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Partner with designated Talent Manager to better understand resource needs for specific business areas, making recommendations on role type, location and recruiting efforts as necessary

• Review employment applications and job postings to match applicants with job requirements

• Screen, qualify and refer candidates, according to hiring managers preference, making recommendations when appropriate

• Facilitate the interview process (i.e. arranging/conducting interviews, administering pre-employment paperwork, entering background check requests) or administering other testing as required

• Inform job applicants of details such as status of their application, duties and responsibilities of the role, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, or promotion opportunities

• Extend employment offers and process hiring-related paperwork ensuring that all appropriate contingencies are satisfied prior to on-boarding

• Provide hiring managers guidance in hiring policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations regarding candidate selection, interview process, hiring decision, etc.

• Provide a positive and professional application and hiring experience to job applicants, employment candidates and employees

• Maintain human resource information system records related to events such as hiring, transfers, or promotions, etc.

• Coordinate and schedule interviews and travel for candidates with interview teams. Ensure a successful flow of interviews and exceptional candidate experience.

• Manage positions on external job boards and posting sites.

• Prepare and execute appropriate and effective applicant sourcing plans and programs. Create compelling, engaging and inclusive job postings that provide an accurate job preview and appeal to the target audience.

• Use networking opportunities such as local community groups or professional associations to identify referrals for qualified candidates.

• Draft or refine job descriptions in partnership with Talent Manager and business leadership

• Provide timely and accurate system reporting, including maintaining real-time candidate disposition status in the ATS (Workday)

• Compile monthly hiring reports for designated business areas

• Maintain current knowledge of all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance

• Attend recruitment functions such as job fairs, career expos, college visits, high school, etc.

• Partner with Talent Manager in workforce planning|forecasting initiatives and implement appropriate recruitment strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs

• Act as liaison with area employment agencies and recruitment agencies

• Effectively represent the candidate and Digi-Key during employment negotiations and upon satisfactory offer extension, prepare official offers of employment and ensure smooth transition to employee

• Attend meetings, conferences and seminars to gain additional knowledge and effectively leverage in daily work and educate others in what was learned

• Mentor others in the methods of recruitment and staffing

• Evaluate selection or testing techniques by conducting research or follow-up activities and conferring with acquisition or supervisory personnel

• Take on additional responsibilities from the Manager, Talent Acquisition (e.g. policy & procedure improvement, process improvement, developing & driving cross-functional goals|objectives); low-risk, low-complexity business area and or tasks

• Conducts training programs for acquisition with a goal of improving recruiting and retention

• Develop and maintain a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates.

• Build and maintain the candidate pool; keeping in touch with applicants to build interest in Digi-Key for future openings.

• Participates in business area specific talent discussions with the Talent Manager to build future talent pools

• Recommend ideas and strategies related to talent acquisition that will contribute to the long-range growth, implementing any new processes and fine-tuning standard processes for recruiting that fits within business operation needs to deliver the highest quality results to the customer.

• In addition to full lifecycle recruiting, focusing on supporting the Talent Manager in talent movement; driving innovation and continuous improvement initiatives; and building proactive pipelines that will help Digi-Key grow profitably

• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar area of study or equivalent, relevant work experience

• Certifications in HR - examples include but not limited to SHRM-CP®, SHRM-SCP®, PHR® and SPHR® *Preferred*

Experience

• Typically, 4-6 years of staffing/recruiting experience

• Ability to think quickly and creatively, and to thrive under pressure

• Must possess strong active and passive candidate search skills.

• Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple assignments and excel in a high volume demanding environment.

• Understands the external marketplace and the impact it has on sourcing strategies (i.e. competition, unemployment rate, movement of companies in/out of area)

• Demonstrated strength in data analysis and insight development

• Demonstrated ability to influence others using tact and professionalism

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leadership and applicants.

• Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter and other tools/social media as well as proactive recruiting and sourcing

• Proficiency using a Human Capital Management system (specifically Workday)

• Demonstrated ability to effectively leverage Office365 (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

• Mature understanding and use of HR and Talent Acquisition best practices.

• Demonstrated competency in: Initiative, Professionalism, Communication, Problem Solving, Time and Project Management, Thoroughness|Attention to Detail, Continuous Learning, Developing Others, Information Seeking and Relationship Building
