Job Summary

Provides leadership, coordination and education for nursing and inter-professional initiatives and projects to assure the achievement of optimal patient/resident and staff outcomes and improvements in care and care delivery. Educates, mentors and coaches staff to enhance their professional development and perform at the top of their scope of practice. Leads and coordinates nursing professional practice to achieve excellence in nursing and quality outcomes. Conducts research and develops nursing policies and procedures based on evidence.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in nursing is required upon hire or actively enrolled in a master’s program with expected graduation within three years of hire. In lieu of degree, leadership may consider minimum eight years equivalent work experience.
Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
A minimum of three years’ experience as a registered nurse in a clinical setting is required along with knowledge of nursing practice and systems with proven success in leading teams to achieve desired outcomes.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required when providing direct patient care or within the first 60 days employment. Professional nursing certification in specialty area is encouraged when eligible.
