Project Engineer Ideal Candidate Profile

QTS is currently seeking an energetic, responsive and well- organized Full Time Project Engineer. This position acts as an Engineering resource for new and existing projects, providing a range of services covering all aspects of Project Engineering. As required, this position may act as the primary Project Engineer resource for select customers.

Project Engineer Job Summary

Develop Manufacturing Processes, as well as Package concepts and prototypes with input from the Customer, Sales, and Manufacturing. Design and execute the Validation of these processes and package designs to qualify them for commercial release, coordinating with outside services where appropriate.
Provide Engineering support on customer calls, visits, email strings etc.
Develop and publish various Controlled Documentation on a project basis, including: Top Level Documents, Manufacturing Documents (MP and training aids), and Trace documents (Routers, BOM's, etc.).
Manage wide variety of tasks/due dates/projects independently to ensure expectations are met.
Create/maintain label templates, databases and ERP system links for new and ongoing product lines.
Coordinate schedules, work instructions and overall requirements with Sterilization Specialist for all validation builds and test samples.
Lead the training effort for new and revised projects, including Pilot Builds, 1st Article Samples, and provide ongoing Manufacturing support for existing product lines.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Project Engineer Skills and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as Mechanical, Manufacturing or Packaging Engineering (OR) 2-year engineering or technical degree plus a minimum of 2-year work experience in the medical device or packaging industry.
1-3 years' experience in field or related area preferred.
IOPP and/or AAMI membership preferred.
Has knowledge of and some training pertaining to FDA, GMP and ISO regulations, including traceability, Risk Analysis, and statistical methods.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Ability to work with CAD and design software, preferably Solidworks.
Previous technical writing experience.
Ability to read and follow protocols.
Direct medical device packaging or manufacturing experience.
Knowledge of label design software desired.
Proven interpersonal skills, the desire for daily team and customer interaction, and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with multiple priorities are essential.
