This leader must maintain an in-depth knowledge of evolving trends and the latest advancements in technology, strategy, and management to develop innovative solutions and approaches. This role will understand best practices and requires a person who can take complex problems and formulate a compelling plan to drive to solutions, apply a customer-obsessed mentality, balance quantitative and qualitative inputs to drive to recommendations, and gain consensus among Best Buy's most senior leaders. The Sr Director, Digital Strategy will also proactively build and manage an external network of digital innovators and strategic vendor partners to leverage and develop influential partnerships across the Best Buy organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with executives across the organization to understand their business objectives and goals, define the ways in which technology can enable their priorities, and shape these ideas into a multi-year digital strategy
Develop strategic ideas to leverage digital technologies to solve customer issues and unmet needs and enable new business opportunities
Drive insights from detailed analysis of technology landscape and market trends to support evaluating, prioritizing and developing the company's digital & technology road map
Identify new digital capabilities and emerging technologies and assess their impact, opportunities and threats, to shape the strategic direction of technology innovation efforts
Build story lines and compelling presentations to socialize strategies and build consensus with varied audiences, from executives to business and technology teams
Improve value creation by defining and aligning on KPIs to measure success
Serve as a thought leader, idea generator and source of inspiration to the broader organization
Build a team of highly motivated Digital Strategists by identifying needed skills and capabilities and work to fill those roles as needed, including, recruiting and hiring, training
Develop, coach, and inspire a team, while creating an inclusive team culture that enables all members of the team to thrive
Provide mentoring and advisory perspectives across the broader organization

Required Qualifications:

12 or more years of relevant experience, with 8 or more years consulting or product management experience within retail, digital or technology areas
5 or more years of direct people management and demonstrated success developing engaged, inclusive teams
5 or more years experience working within Matrix environments and demonstrating the ability to work cross-functionally
5 or more years of experience managing budgets and resource allocation
Bachelors or advanced degree in IT, computer science, engineering, business, design, human computer interaction or related field or equivalent work experience
