Qualifications Required Qualifications: A minimum of a Masters degree in Dental Hygiene or current enrollment in a graduate program. Must be a graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program or enrolled in an accredited dental hygiene program Must be eligible for Minnesota licensure Must have clinical dental hygiene practice experience. Preferred Qualifications: Restorative functions certificate Demonstrated leadership skills Didactic teaching experience Demonstrated scholarship Clinical experience teaching dental hygiene and dental students Minimum of three to five years clinical dental hygiene practice. About the Job The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry is accepting applications for part time adjunct faculty positions in the Division of Dental Hygiene. Responsibilities include didactic, laboratory, pre-clinical and clinical instruction to dental, dental therapy and dental hygiene students. Additional responsibilities could include committee assignments, research, and service. The dental, dental hygiene and dental therapy integrated curricula focus on a team-based delivery model that emphasizes community service and clinical enrichment in public health settings. ******* The School of Dentistry houses a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene program and a Master of Science in Dental Hygiene program, as well as a Master of Dental Therapy program. About the Department The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry is the state's only dental school and the only dental school in the northern tier of states between Wisconsin and the Pacific Northwest. We are a regional resource to five states for dental education, consulting services, patient treatment, and ongoing continuing dental education. The School of Dentistry educates general dentists, dental specialists, dental therapists, dental hygienists, dental educators and research-scientists. For more than two decades, we've offered specialty training in six ADA-recognized specialties: Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontics and Prosthodontics. We also offer an advanced education program in TMD and orofacial pain, oral biology, dental hygiene, and oral health for older adults. Dentists who are graduates of dental schools outside of the United States and Canada wishing to practice in the United States train here, as well. A novel, interdisciplinary Dentist-Scientist Training Program rounds out our educational offerings. Our work affects nearly every person in Minnesota.
