Job Summary

Good Samaritan Society - Specialty Care Community provides post-acute rehabilitation services in both our young adult and geriatric communities following a hospitalization or serious illness, we also provide care for Memory, Behavioral, and Huntingtins.

Good Samaritan Society - Specialty Care Community has been recognized as a recipient of the Silver - Commitment to Quality Award for its dedication to improving the lives of residents through quality care from the American Health Care Association. Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities that may include, but are not limited to, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psycho-social support and other personal care to assigned resident.

May assist the resident in transferring, re-positioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment and provides range of motion and passive exercises.

If needed, may aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures. Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within their scope of practice as defined by state regulations. Documents the outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary.

Department Details

Overtime after 8 hours in a day, RN or LPN scholarship opportunities after 1 year with GSS

Qualifications
  • Minimum age of 16
  • Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
  • Competition of a Trained / Certified Medication Aide state approved course
  • Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually. Maintains all department specific required certifications
