Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician II recommends to the Maintenance Supervisor changes to preventive maintenance tasks to include time, frequency, material, procedures and if an item should be repaired or replaced. This position completes scheduled preventive tasks in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations or department procedures. The technician initiates and completes work orders, parts requests and p.m.'s. This position repairs, replaces or installs equipment in estimated time frame and signs off discrepancies on round sheets. The Maintenance Technician operates and maintains many different types of equipment and keeps work areas and equipment in a clean, safe and orderly manner.

Title and Description

• Initiates and completes work orders, parts requests, and preventive maintenance, i.e., expenditures, labor hours, etc.
• Completes scheduled preventive tasks in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations or department procedures within established time frames.
• Repairs, replaces or installs equipment within estimated time frames.
• Operates and maintains grounds equipment and high voltage generator sets.
• Informs department on status of equipment or work orders.
• Recommends to the Maintenance Supervisor changes to preventive maintenance tasks to include time, frequency, material, procedures and if an item should be repaired or replaced. Informs the Supply Coordinator of materials needed and cost of labor to complete assigned projects/tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
• Demonstrates understanding and follows infection control policies and procedures according to standard operating procedure.
• Maintains requirements for age specific competencies for the position and demonstrates the knowledge or principles of growth and developments and the skills necessary to provide patient/customer care/services.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in health care maintenance/plant services.
• Successful completion of functional assessment
