This is a Full Time, Salary position. This Regional Director position will over look both Home Care and Hospice in the Grand Forks area.



Scope:

  • Provide overall planning, direction, coordination, management and supervision of all clinical services in conjunction with the Administrator of Home Care & Hospice. This includes fiscal and clinical responsibility.
  • Responsible for clinical performance in all areas to facilitate high quality, effective & efficient patient care.

  • Responsible for ensuring delivery of care and quality improvement across assigned region, following Ethos policies, procedures and culture. Oversees quality assurance performance improvement (QAPI), quality scores and patient satisfaction scores and HIPPA for region.
  • Hire and manage qualified personnel and ensure appropriate staff orientation, ongoing education and evaluation is in place.
  • Has frequent contact with the Administrator of Home Care & Hospice, clients & families, referral sources, intake, the billing office and other staff.
  • Work with members of the community to establish a larger client base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, Evaluate and Manage Staff Establish staffing patterns, based on productivity standards, with approval of the Administrator of Home Care & Hospice, which reflect the quality and quantity of various personnel necessary to plan, provide, and supervise the care rendered to patients and families. Work to achieve the correct clinician to patient ratio. Give leadership in promoting and maintaining standards for giving high quality care, by all members of the care team. Select, train and evaluate direct reports. Keep the Administrator of Home Care & Hospice informed on an on-going basis of department activities, concerns and recommend solutions. Triage all staff concerns and questions. Round with employees.
  • Quality Assurance

    Responsible for the QAPI committee and has full understanding of the QAPI and CAHPS process for home care and hospice. Conduct chart audits and assign chart audits. Provide feedback and education to the team as needed based on chart audits. Gathers data and plans quality improvement to be reported at the quality assurance meeting. Responsible for the regulatory compliance and training of employees with OASIS and HIS and requirements. Develop, evaluate, review, revise and implement policies and procedures; goals and objectives; and standards of care relevant to patient services. Report any changes in policy at quality assurance meeting and provides education to staff with all policy changes. Perform patient care responsibilities when needed and considers needs specific to the standards of care for patient’s age and cultural practices.
  • Assessment and Communication with Patients Review RN and therapy assessments to ensure eligibility for services. Review plan of care assessment for regulatory compliance. Be available to communicate with patients, families and referral sources. Understands how to set up patients in the computer system with information from referral sources and patient when the intake team or clinical coordinator is not available. Have full knowledge of Medicare benefit and requirements amongst all payor services for both Home Care and Hospice. Works closely with the Medical Director, RNs and clinical nurse coordinator to assure accurate diagnosis per Hospice regulations using the lCD codes. Schedules Hospice face-to-face visits and communicates with Medical Director on a regular basis.
  • Health Information Systems & HIPAA
    Have full knowledge of the agency's health information systems. Assist the staff with software questions and issues. Works closely with the Compliance Officer to assure compliance. Implement and train all employees when there are HIPAA policy changes as they arise.
  • Continuous Improvement Actively participate in and implement quality performance in all aspects of job responsibilities and functions. This includes all interactions with Patients, staff, and visitors. Participate in and promote teamwork. Seek, recommend and implement new methods and means of providing quality service. Regularly consult with the Administrator of Home Care & Hospice regarding ways to solve problems and maintain or improve high standards of care.
  • Regulatory Compliance Maintain a working knowledge of current ACHC, Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payer requirements for hospice reimbursement. Conduct mock survey to assure all staff are following the policies and regulations. Ensure the organization meets federal, state and local regulations and standards. Responsible for survey process.
  • Community Engagement Communicate regularly with referral sources providing education to facilities and to other members of the community.
  • Other Duties as Assigned Assist with special projects as assigned by the Administrator of Home Care and Hospice. Collaborates with other Regional Directors. The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Dakota and Minnesota.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Must complete and pass a state required background study.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and use of an insured personal vehicle.
  • A minimum of two years of Home Care and/or Hospice experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years in leadership role is preferred.
  • Able to understand business systems and financial reports, including profit and loss, balance sheets and cash flow.

  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing to the extent required by the position.
  • Able to physically perform the duties required by the position.
  • Required to have the ability to read, write and speak English well enough to communicate with staff, patients, families and facilities.
