The primary responsibilities of this position are to evaluate courses for transferability to the college, enter transfer credit from official transcripts to the student records, and to maintain transfer records in the Transfer Notebook database. Secondary responsibilities include working with the athletic department to verify athletic eligibility of student athletes and providing support to study away programs by overseeing student registration, transfer evaluations, and confirmation of final grades. This position provides general office support in the Registrar’s Office through reception at the front desk area, answering phones, and processing official transcripts. Other responsibilities include processing degree verifications to the National Student Clearinghouse, publishing semester and final exam schedules, and assisting with incoming and current student registration.

Responsibilities
Transfer Evaluations:
- Evaluate and determine transferability of all types of transfer credits: college credit for transfer students, first-year students, current students taking a course elsewhere to transfer back, International students, students studying abroad, former students trying to complete their degree, AP, CLEP, Credit-by-Exam, International Baccalaureate and retro-credit.
- Notify student of completed evaluation of transferred courses.
- Communicate with Admissions on new students bringing in transfer credit.
- Enter and maintain transfer equivalency database.
- Transfer articulation.

Athletic Eligibility:
- Secure list of participants in each sport from coaches.
- Check credit status and previous seasons of participation.
- Maintain records.
- Complete eligibility roster for each sport for MIAC eligibility chair.

Study Away Program Support:
- Serve as liaison with students and Global Learning Office.
- Respond to queries about study away course equivalencies, course credits, etc.
- Communicate with students studying away on course equivalency forms, registration verifications, transcripts, grades, etc.
- Maintain study away program records, including course equivalency forms.
- Receive official transcripts from study away programs and complete course registration and final grade entry.

Events Management System:
- Room assignment support.
- Publish semester and finals schedules.
- Make room assignment changes as necessary.

Office Support:
- Answer phones, emails and student questions.
- Process pass/fail form submissions.
- Process official transcript requests as needed.
- Assist with updating student records (DegreeWorks exceptions, attributes).
- Process degree verifications to the National Student Clearinghouse.
- Assist with incoming and current student registration.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Knowledge of English language and proper spelling & grammar
- Ability to use computers and other office equipment (fax, copier, etc.)
- Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience providing quality customer service
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and work with deadlines
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively with diversified populations

Preferred Qualifications: 

- Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge of Student Information Systems, specifically Banner
