Job Summary

Manages day-to-day operations for the nurse anesthetists. Demonstrate leadership to employees, serving as a role model, and encouraging vision and change projects. Oversees the anesthesia equipment planning, drug preparation, arrangement and securing process. Controls the inventory standards for supplies and equipment. Responsible for schedule completion, maintaining daily CRNA services for set amount of surgical blocks and managing coverage. Collaborates with other inter-professional colleagues, to plan, implement, and evaluate care. Assists in procedures according to relevant regulations and policies, including the administration of anesthesia. Administers anesthesia or sedation to patients undergoing a variety of surgical and non-surgical procedures. Develops and conduct pre-anesthetic plan for the patient as well as write orders before, after, and during procedures appropriately. Evaluates and orders diagnostic tests as needed. Monitors patients, including hemodynamic monitoring, using current techniques to adjust appropriately with the anesthesia plan. Ability to work with growth and development needs of all client populations.
Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization. Manages the implementation of anesthesia policies and regulations. Prepares reports on the reactions of patients to anesthesia and compiles relevant data dealing with specific anesthesia, drugs and techniques.
Understand the critical components associated and required to achieve intended results and ability to assist in hiring, selection, retaining, and leveraging talent across the unit. Measures the performance of nursing staff members. Assists in the training of new staff members and the development of existing staff members. May provide feedback in the development and monitoring of the budget for department to maintain fiscally responsible practices in the perioperative setting as needed. May be asked to assist with other projects or work assignments as needed by organization, department or leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree required from an approved and accredited educational program in specific area of advanced practice. Masters degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) preferred.
Minimum three years of CRNA experience preferred. Previous leadership/management experience preferred.
Requires current unencumbered licensure to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) from the State Board of Nursing in the state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position. CRNA certification required and maintained through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). Must have clinical privileges approved through respective health care facilities. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
