Position Information

Position Description & Details: Three units within Agricultural Affairs of North Dakota State University (NDSU) seek a grants coordinator that will serve Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABEN), Microbiological Sciences (MICRO), and the School of Natural Resource Sciences (SNRS).

Responsibilities: A responsible, independent-working, and motivated individual is sought to provide administrative assistance to faculty and staff preparing grant proposals. The identified candidate must also have a strong attention to detail and must be able to prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, reviewing proposals for compliance, coordinating grant approval process, assisting with budget development, and keeping informed with funding requests, requirements and opportunities. We hope to find someone who will excel at their duties while also working well with our collection of personnel and external stakeholders from a diverse background of populations and experiences.

Work Schedule: 12 month postion Monday through Friday

Advertised Salary: $50,000 to $70,000 anually

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in business, accounting, project coordination, or related field.
  • Evidence of effective and excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Collegial and professional in conducting responsibilities with colleagues.
  • Technical acumen as demonstrated by experience and fluid understanding of desktop programs, including Microsoft Office Suite for word processing, spreadsheets, database management, and emailing.
  • Ability to organize and synthesize quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with emphasis on accuracy, follow-through and adherence to deadlines .

Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year or more of grant and/or project management experience with demonstrated positive progression in responsibilities.
  • Experience with developing a budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team setting.
