United Gear and Assembly is looking to add an IT Specialist in Hudson, WI.
This person is the first point of contact for any IT related issues for the end users. This includes hardware and software issues. Person will be responsible for maintaining the network including desktops, laptops and servers to ensure connectivity and efficiency of system. Plus under general direction designs, supports, maintains, and evaluates computer networking and telecommunication systems; installs, configures, and maintains both physical and virtual computer servers; maintains employee network, e-mail, and other access; performs other IT related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of all of United Gear & Assembly, Inc. s operational systems including network infrastructure, connectivity and data defenses. Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols
  • Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls
  • Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor
  • Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.
  • Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support
  • Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets; monitoring expenses
  • Maintain all desktops, laptops, servers and network printers/fax machines/scanners
  • Perform daily backup and recovery of network data
  • Set up of new desktops, laptops and printers for new employees
  • Develop documentation including disaster recovery plans
  • Maintain telecommunications, i.e. phone system and extensions for United Gear & Assembly, Inc. s offices
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • respond to user questions; prioritize requests, organize, schedule, and coordinate a variety of activities and project
  • Website design and maintenance
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems
  • Familiar with Microsoft Server Administration including Active Directory maintenance
  • Hardware and Software troubleshooting ability
  • Experience with LAN/WAN connectivity issues and maintaining a wireless network in a manufacturing environment
  • Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of a 2-year degree in Information Technology.
  • One to three years of IT support experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
