The CI Project Leader / Production Manager is responsible for leading, implementing, maintaining, and improving a Lean Business Management System for the company's operations (2 locations). As part of the Leadership Team for the facilities, the CI Project Leader is responsible to assist in the business strategy development and implementation - being the driving force behind project execution.

CI Major Responsibilities:

??? Through the implementation of tools, training, process, and standard work, institute a Lean Business Management System.

??? Assist in implementing a culture that embraces a quality first approach and drives continuous improvement in meeting customer expectations.

??? Assist in implementing a culture that embraces the Lean Business Management System and drives continuous improvement in meeting business metrics and key process indicators.

??? Through performance management and employee development, implement an operations organizational development plan that will meet the business unit's current and future needs.

??? Through strategic sourcing plans and supplier development, maintain a supply base that will meet the business unit's current and future needs.

??? Through the utilization of Business Systems, drive continuous improvement, production scheduling and equipment / facility utilization.

??? Assist in implementing a culture that embraces the culture and values.

Responsibilities

??? Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.

??? Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.

??? Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.

??? Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

??? Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.

??? Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.

??? Enforces company policies and procedures; OSHA, FDA, SQF, GFSI

??? Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.

??? Prepare and maintain written correspondence.

??? Resolve problems and triage issues with guidance from the Plant Manager.

??? Coordinate schedules for production staff and expedite any shortages.

??? Coordinate all travel and seminar arrangements for production and planning staff through the Accounting Manager.

??? Work closely with other areas of production on various assignments, as necessary.

??? Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Requirements:

Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and proficiency in the following:
  • Lean, Six Sigma, and Change Management
  • Project Management
  • Problem Solving and Troubleshooting
  • Data Analysis
  • Presentations and Facilitation
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Education and/or Experience

??? To meet the requirements of this position, the incumbent must possess a four-year degree in an engineering, operations, or supply chain discipline; with an advanced degree in business or related experience strongly desired or 10 years progressively responsible related experience.

??? A minimum of 5 years of related experience is required of which 3years is in a supervisory / managerial capacity.

??? Proven background in lean management systems and process improvement tools, Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc.

??? Sound working knowledge of all standards associated with Industrial based Operations ISO 900 - provided by Dice
