Manufacturing Manager

The Manufacturing Manager will work in the Chemistry Manufacturing and Controls Group. They will supervise a team of production chemists, and is an ideal position for an individual with a science background and experience leading scientists in a GMP setting.

Responsibilities

Track progress against project timelines, generate regular status updates, and communicate progress and issues to management, including presentations at team meetings
Organize and lead a team of scientists in the implementation of new processes in a GMP environment
Train and mentor team members
Work with project management to develop and maintain a schedule
Oversee/guide writing of SOPs and batch records
Provide technical oversight during production
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely deliveries of drug substance to support non-clinical and clinical studies

Requirements:

BS or MS in chemistry, biochemistry, or engineering field
Minimum 5 years' experience in a GMP/GLP laboratory settings
Good verbal and written communication skills
Experience with analytical techniques; especially HPLC
Eagerness to learn new techniques
Demonstrated leadership through leading direct reports or though Matrix organizations
Able to lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred:

Experience working with large molecule synthetic targets (especially oligonucleotides) either in an academic or industrial setting
Experience with solid phase synthesis of oligonucleotides or peptides
Experience with conjugation chemistry
LC-MS experience
